Phoebe Rankin, LCSW-S

**Will accept new clients at the Conscious Adapt in mid October 2026**

Hello! My name is Phoebe Rankin, LCSW-S – you’re welcome to call me Phoebe.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor in Texas with experience providing individual, relationship, and group therapy across outpatient and higher levels of care. I earned both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Texas State University.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, relationship concerns, grief, identity development, and major life transitions. I have also served in clinical leadership and supervision roles, supporting developing clinicians as they strengthen their skills, clinical judgment, and authentic therapeutic voice.

Phoebe’s Training and Clinical Qualifications

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, disconnected, or as though they have had to adapt themselves to meet the expectations of others.

My areas of clinical focus include complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADHD and neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic suicidal ideation, identity exploration, self-esteem, boundaries, relationship patterns, and difficulty regulating emotions. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporate trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-focused care into my work.

I am an LGBTQIA2S+-affirming, sex-positive, and neurodiversity-affirming therapist. I work with couples and partners whose relationships may not fit traditional expectations, including those practicing polyamory, ethical nonmonogamy (ENM), and consensual Dominance/submission (D/S). Rather than treating the relationship structure itself as the problem, I help partners explore the concerns that bring them to therapy.

Phoebe’s Approach

My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, curious, and individualized. I do not believe therapy should be about forcing yourself to become more acceptable, productive, or convenient for others. Instead, I help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognize the protective purpose behind their patterns, and decide intentionally what they would like to carry forward.

In our work, we may explore how past experiences continue to shape your emotions, relationships, self-perception, and nervous system. We will also identify practical tools for managing distress, communicating your needs, setting boundaries, and responding differently when familiar patterns arise. Depending on your needs, therapy may include processing painful experiences, learning concrete coping skills, examining relationship dynamics, or simply creating room to name what you have not previously felt safe enough to say.

My goal is not to provide a rigid formula or tell you who you should become. It is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your choices, and better able to build a life and relationships that reflect your values.

How can you expect me to be?

You can expect me to be warm, genuine, compassionate, and engaged. I bring curiosity and humor into the room, and I am comfortable sitting with difficult emotions without rushing to make them disappear. I will validate your experiences, but I will also gently challenge you when I notice patterns, contradictions, or places where fear may be making decisions for you.

My clinical approach also draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and strengths-based practices. I view you as the expert on your own experience. My role is to offer clinical knowledge, thoughtful questions, honest feedback, and a safe relationship in which we can make sense of things together.

I believe people heal best when they feel genuinely known, and I consider it a privilege to be invited into that process.

A Little More About Me

Outside of therapy, I enjoy creative projects, crafting, reading, and finding small ways to make every day spaces feel more colorful and personal. I am happily partnered and have four stepsons, as well as a dog and four cats who keep our household busy and full of personality. When I have a little free time, you can often find me playing video games, gathering around a table for Dungeons & Dragons, or baking something that will inevitably require every dish in the kitchen.
